Taking inspiration from Dropout TV and Freestyle Love Supreme, this pay-what-you-can performance is bound to be full of unexpected musical theatre surprises (even for the cast!). Making up most of what they’re doing on the spot, a team of performers and a pianist will devise their way through a brand new, IMPROVISED musical theatre work.

Adapted from the Ed Wood film Plan 9 From Outer Space, and known as “the worst film in the history of cinema” and “so bad it’s good”, Plan 9: A Z-Movie Musical follows a group of humans who band together to stop alien beings who’ve come to Earth to eradicate all of humanity… by raising the dead.
Playing off 1950s sci-fi/horror tropes, Plan 9 is a spoofy, spooky, and occasionally heartfelt journey of what happens when men are given too much power over their world.

making banks x lost justice: a double feature concert
A double concert of two Showpeople musicals—Making Banks: The Musical follows protagonist Robin on the precipice of her 18th birthday. For such a monumental event, her family requires her to fulfill a monumental task: planning (and successfully executing) a grand bank heist. Lost Justice follows a group of college students after a peer was murdered at a party. The investigation takes us through what happened that night— oh, and did we mention some of them have superpowers?

We all know a little bit about the mythic Trojan War… but what led up to it? Our mythical-hero-turned-narrator, Achilles, helps to tell the musical (and unusually fruity) story of how the exclusion of his goddess aunt from his parents’ wedding eventually led to his own tragic fate as told in Homer’s “The Iliad”.
With a new extension into a second act, we dive into Achilles’ whereabouts for his approximate 7-10 years AWAY from battle, and Prince Paris’ turmoil within.

to the fairest: a new musical
December 2012. The world is just about to end (according to the Mayans, anyway), and it very well might be for a small theatre troupe trying to put up a musical adaptation of a holiday favorite film: A Christmas Story. When the rights to the movie get pulled out from beneath them by some up and coming writers, they pivot HARD into one night of frenzied adapting of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
A metatheatrical retelling of this Christmas classic, …Carol? invites us to remember what makes the holidays so special to so many people.

to the fairest: theatre for young audiences edition
Our mythic Greek musical gets a TYA makeover!
A condensed, one-act version of the full work, To the Fairest: TYA Edition serves as the most fun you and your family will have in a 45 minute timespan.
With a score spanning between genres of folk, rock, and classic musical theatre, and a book filled with Gen Alpha quips, this show is best suited to middle school ages and up. Any avid Percy Jackson fan or Greek myth nerd will be able to enjoy!
